Get in the Halloween Spirit at the Boston Ghosts & Gravestones Tour

October 8, 2021

Have you ever heard of Ephraim Littlefield? If you’re well-versed in the unsavory side of Boston’s history, you probably have. If you’re not familiar, you’ll quickly get acquainted on the Boston Ghosts & Gravestones Tour when you make a stop at the King’s Chapel cemetery. The sinister story of how Littlefield dealt in the dead’s bones will chill you to your core.

And that’s really the whole point of this spooky excursion. Climb aboard the trolley and learn all about the grisly history of the city—stories that you probably didn’t learn growing up. Your tour guide (a “gravedigger” in costume) will relay the tales, some rooted in well-documented history and other matters of local lore. You’ll hear about the Boston Strangler and the havoc he wreaked, the torchings and executions that unfolded on the Boston Commons many years ago, and the paranormal activity that continues to this day at the notoriously haunted Omni Parker House. It’s the perfect way to welcome the spooky season here in Boston. Note that parts of this tour occur on foot, so it’s important to wear comfortable shoes.
